URESOLVE=20 BLUE & 411

Uresolve = Blue is used for fast removal of urethanes utilized in the electronics=20 industry. Uresolve=20 411 is a stronger version but it has the ability to attack vinyl=20 insulation.

General

Uresolve=20 Blue & 411 are alkaline solvents that will remove polyester = urethanes from=20 cable assemblies, aircraft electrical connectors, and electronic modules = at room=20 temperature. It can also = be used=20 for complete or partial removal of urethane-based conformal coatings = from=20 printed circuit boards. = Uresolve=20 Blue is the most selective alcohol-based solvent for dissolving = urethanes. It is shelf stable and shows = much less=20 effect on PVC wire, neoprene, silicones, and other insulating materials = than=20 competitive solvents containing chlorinated solvents or acetone. Uresolve Blue was designed to = meet the=20 requirements of MIL R83213A, Type 1. =20

Applications

1. =20 Recommended for = applications=20 where fast selective dissolving at room temperature is required and = where a=20 flammable solvent can be utilized. =20 When a flammable solvent cannot be used, use Dynasolve=20 2000.

2. =20 Can be used to = reclaim cable=20 assemblies, aircraft electrical connectors, and electronic modules.

3. =20 Can be used for = complete or=20 partial removal of urethane-based conformal coatings on printed circuit=20 boards. The report = =93Evaluation on=20 Marine Instrumentation Printed Wire Assemblies=94 outlines the procedure = used in=20 removal of conformal coatings with Dynasolve 190. These same procedures are = applicable to=20 Uresolve Blue and Uresolve 411.

4. =20 These materials = will not=20 attack aluminum or aluminum alloys (with the addition of =BD% Ethyl = Silicate),=20 electroless nickel plate, gold plate, beryllium and beryllium alloys, = carbon=20 steel, nickel, stainless steel, chromium, copper, brass, or=20 bronze.

Directions For=20 Use

1. =20 For complete = depotting: Immerse component in solvent = until all=20 urethane or sealant has dissolved. =20 Time for removal varies with the type and amount of material = being=20 removed.

2. =20 It has been found = that the=20 critical area in repairing cable assemblies and aircraft connectors is = in=20 restoring the electrical properties of the assembly. During the depotting = operation,=20 by-products formed have a tendency to be electrically conductive and = therefore=20 must be completely removed prior to repotting. These complex organic salts = are most=20 readily removed by washing in IPA. =20 The wash cycle should consist of at least two rinses in IPA. The connectors or cable = assemblies=20 should not be allowed to dry after the depotting cycle since the = residues and=20 film become more difficult to remove. =20 Should assembly dry prior to immersion in the IPA, it is = recommended that=20 it be returned to Uresolve Blue or 411, followed by immediate washing in = IPA.

3. =20 For removal of = conformal=20 coatings: Immerse the = board in=20 solution and cover the container to limit evaporation of the = solvent. Thin coatings will require = longer=20 soaking. After coating is = dissolved, wash in IPA. = If a milky=20 residue remains, dissolving action is not complete and the board should = be=20 immersed in the solution again.

4. =20 For partial or spot = removal,=20 apply with brush or cotton pad. =20 Both products are also available in a gel form for this=20 application.

5. =20 For removal of = coatings from=20 ceramic or metal substrates where heat can be tolerated and faster = action is=20 necessary, we recommend
